Notes to Parents

Thanks again for your support of the Purple and White game and Barbeque.

We still need parents willing to sign up and help with concessions at the home football games. Please contact Coach Gunter at coachgunter@yahoo.com

Tshirt fundraiser is over but because of a minor delay you can still turn in your order forms until Monday morning, after that you can buy tshirts at the football games but players don't get credit for them.

Practices the next week will be daily at 4pm-6pm. We will lift weights and condition in the morning at 8-9:30.

Purple and White

Friday Aug 13 is the annual Purple and White game. It begins at 6pm with the Freshmen v. Sophomore scrimmage. At 7pm the Varsity will play a modified game. The teams will be drafted by the coaches and will be even on paper. It is our game preparation for the first game 1 week from Friday at home v. Weber.

There will also be food available for the spectators. The players will be served a dinner after they play. So the Sophomores and Freshmen will eat while the varsity is playing.
The burgers and drinks will be provided for the players but we are asking for potluck for the rest of dinner.
Food Assignments
Freshmen and Juniors bring desserts
Sophomores and Seniors bring a salad
If you have questions about the food assignments and/or are willing to help with the barbeque please call 723-2461 or email kingtricia@yahoo.com
Coach G: Thank you for the great parental support of the barbeque. Thanks to Tricia and Rob for spending all day getting set up and all the parents who worked with them to make it a success. Football, it was a great showing of team football. It is important to understand that we have no stars but everyone giving total effort to do their job will make the team the star. To steal from Rudyard Kipling, "the strength of the bee is in the hive, the strength of the hive is the bee."

Hydration

Parents and players,
It is imperative that the players stay hydrated. The most important time to hydrate is before the activity. I have suggested that they drink one oz of water for every one lb of body weight. ie.. Gary weighs 179lbs, he needs 179 oz of water every day to compete at optimal performance. These young men are working as hard as they can and trying to earn a starting position, they need to be completely hydrated to function at their best. If they are underhydrated they do not function at full capacity and if they are dehydrated there are serious health risks.
